Print & Digital Collateral for Diverse Audiences
Butterfly Pavilion, Westminster, Colorado
Beyond the Exhibit
I designed a suite of collateral for Butterfly Pavilion spanning events, education, and accessibility. From birthday party promotions to a bilingual scavenger hunt and sensory-friendly programming, each piece was designed to welcome a different kind of visitor — and make them feel like the Pavilion was made for them.
Nature-inspired exhibit that makes learning fun.
As lead exhibit designer and art director for Butterfly Pavilion's Pollinator Place exhibit, I built an educational experience that could speak to everyone in the room — in both English and Spanish. Working across infographics, large-format panels, and hand-drawn illustration, I translated the science of Colorado's pollinators into something families could feel, not just read.
The exhibit needed to work for a six-year-old pointing at a bee and a Spanish-speaking parent reading alongside them — at the same time. I approached it as a system: a unified visual language built on color coding, custom iconography, and illustration that didn't require language to communicate. The bilingual formatting wasn't an afterthought — it was the architecture.

Bridging Science and Storytelling
Hand-drawn illustrations combined scientific accuracy with approachable style.
“Illustrations made pollinators approachable while staying scientifically accurate.”
The pollinator illustrations earned praise from Butterfly Pavilion's own entomologists for their scientific accuracy. I extended their life beyond the exhibit by turning them into stickers, now available in my shop — with 20% of proceeds going to pollinator conservation.
Media & Impact
Pollinator Place drew regional press attention at launch, with coverage spanning local news, community outlets, and policy-focused media.
In the News & Media Highlights
Denver7 – “First Gentleman Marlon Reis and Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen cut the ribbon Tuesday to open ‘Pollinator Place.’ This is all part of the Pavilion’s ‘Pollinator Palooza,’ a two-month initiative to educate families about the many bugs that contribute to Colorado’s vegetation and food chain.”
Longmont Leader – “Butterfly Pavilion unveiled its pollinator-focused exhibit Pollinator Place during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This buzzworthy event also marked the beginning of the global launch of its Pollinator Awareness through Conservation and Education (PACE) initiative.”
Reflection
Pollinator Place reinforced my belief that design is a bridge, between people and ideas, between science and story, between languages and cultures. This project challenged me to combine branding, illustration, and bilingual communication into an experience that informed visitors and invited them to care deeply about the role of pollinators in our world.
